We are looking for a hands-on VP Engineer to join our Automation as a Service team with experience leading teams and interfacing with stakeholders to solve the complex operational challenges that Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Bank faces today.

Automation as a Service is a group specifically targeted at delivering digital products focused on delivering solutions in low-friction and easily consumable manner that benefits clients and operations for whom banking is not their core business but a service that they require.

These offerings will deliver digital interfaces and capabilities to both internal and external clients to ensure a low-touch low-friction low-complexity approach.

As a key technology leader in Singapore you will be responsible for driving solution design in the APAC region and also driving engineering culture across the delivery teams.

You will have the opportunity to build your team to expand upon our platform to solve the technology challenges of tomorrow: providing automation solutions, building out components of our single-user interface portal our key-stone technology platform that is both internal and external client-facing.

Our team is tasked with transforming the Corporate Bank on a distinctive portfolio of work introducing green-field technology and responsibilities that include transforming operational teams.

Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Bank addresses the needs of corporate clients, financial institutions, investors and issuers in three segments.
- In Corporate Treasury Services we provide corporate clients with liquidity management, foreign exchange, payment, trade finance and lending solutions.
- Our Institutional Client Services provide financial institutions, investors and issuers with institutional cash management, trust and agency solutions as well as securities services.
- In Germany, our Business Banking segment supports small businesses and self-employed business owners with payment and credit solutions as well as other banking.

**Your key responsibilities**:

- Work with the business users, business analysts, solution
- and technical-architects to clarify software requirements and take the lead on technical assignments in our APAC region, specifically Corporate Bank Operations across Cash, Securities, Trade Finance and Lending
- Use your in depth technology understanding to design and develop high-quality software. This includes taking decisions between different feasible options for a given requirement or task.
- We are specifically investing in programs that will provide Workflow, Document Digitization and rapid external interface automation solutions.
- Your role will be to work with Singapore technology and Operations management to distill requirements and drive solutions across our teams in India and China.
- Implementation of feasibility studies, cost estimates, code reviews based on four-eyes principle as well as problem and root cause analysis
- Follow Agile (Scrum) development practices and help to maintain code quality, automation, organization, test coverage and documentation
- Provide information to the various stakeholders (Project Managers, Scrum Master, Business)
- Support junior and other team members with technical and methodical advice (coaching)
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
- Provide level 3 support of UAT and Production environments

**Your skills and experience**:

- B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant disciplines from an accredited institution or similar education
- At least 8 years of solid software engineering with proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
- Excellent hands on development experience in Java (8, 11), Micro Services and Web services (REST, Json)
- In depth knowledge and hands on experience with Spring Boot, Oracle, Cloud technology (Kubernetes, GCP) and/or preferably Web UI Development (React, HTML, JavaScript)
- Previous relevant experience of Agile SDLC with associated tools: Collaboration (Jira, Confluence,), CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven, ), Test Automation (Junit, Cucumber, Jest), Reporting and Documentation (ARC42)
