The Salvation Army, Children and Youth Group - Gracehaven is a residential home for children and youths who require care, protection and rehabilitation due to risk behaviours and a lack of parental supervision.

At Gracehaven, a team of professionally trained social workers work towards building holistic and individualized care plans that are tailored to meet each person's needs.

**About the Job**
- The Salvation Army Children and Youth Group provides a continuum of services for vulnerable children. We believe that Every Child Matters and also take a family-centric approach to our work with children.
- As Assistant Manager of the Social Work team in Residential Services, you will oversee a team of social workers to provide excellent case management and therapeutic support to vulnerable children under the care of our Children's Homes. As these children are referred by Child Protective Services and have a history of abuse or neglect, you are crucial in enabling collaboration with stakeholders in the interest of the child as well as work with families to enable safe and timely reunification. You are also key in providing supervision, developing, maintaining good social work practice. You may also be required to assist in supervision or social work matters for Youth Development Centre and other services.
- As the primary person overseeing the day to day work for the social work team in residential services, you are expected to develop and maintain capabilities so as to provide high quality of practice and care. You take and model a multi-disciplinary approach. Not only do you oversee the casework and practice of social workers, you will need to work closely with the residential services team and our Centre for Psychological and Counselling Services (CPC) as well as any external stakeholders in order to enable continuity and quality of care and treatment for the residents.
- As a key leader in residential services, you will also need to oversee your team to ensure that Standards of Care, licensing and governance requirements are met. You will need to know the regulations and licensing requirements extremely well. This may include documentations, required frequencies of check ins, programming, etc. You will need to also be the TSA rep for licensing, audit or other governance platforms, meetings or checks as per required.
- You are to provide clinical and professional supervision to social workers, grow supervisors and social work and social service professionals in practice and insight. You will need to hold regular and quality supervision sessions individually and in groups to enable the development of quality social work practice. You will also need to develop and execute plans to grow capability of social workers and social service professionals in line with their developmental needs as well as the needs of CYG. You are also expected to work closely with other social work leaders such as those in fostering or KIP to grow and make practice in CYG coherent to staff and external stakeholders. From time to time, you may need to directly manage some cases yourself, when required by the ED/CYG.
- You will need to work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of Social Work intervention plans. Identify, plan, initiate and monitor these plans closely.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**1. Case Management/Clinical Supervision**
- Oversee the delivery of services by SWs to ensure high standard of practice, proper documentation and case files.
- Supervise the implementation of Individual Care Plans (ICPs) in the residential services and assist in seeing that a person/family centred care policy is practised by all.
- Provide clinical supervision to senior social workers, social workers/case workers, and interns in consultation with AD and ED.
- Lead and conduct case assessment and risk assessment for complex cases, and when required, take on cases.
- Review and provide advice to guide the development of the SW team.
- Monitor and review the progress and effectiveness of ICPs. Facilitate regular structured case discussions, and conduct case management meetings with all stakeholders.
- Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in compliance with MSF and Licensing guidelines.
- Coordinate and attend Court sessions, internal and external Review Boards (RB) and mentions at Juvenile Courts as necessary.
- With a vision of enabling excellent practice, plan and execute measures for professional development of social workers and social service professionals in CYG through identifying learning needs, transfer of skills and knowledge and offer training, coaching and supervision where appropriate.
