**M&A Strategy & Commercial Leader Singapore & SEA**
**What can you expect?**
The core purpose of this position is to lead the M&A business for Mercer Singapore & SEA (including management of the team, P&L, growth strategy). The role also includes leading the strategic sales initiatives in M&A and related Transformation advisory business within the Multinational Client Segment (MCS). This role reports directly to the MCS AIMEA Leader, with dotted line reporting to the Global M&A leader and the Mercer Singapore CEO.
The M&A Strategy & Commercial Leader will be a member of the regional MCS Leadership team, M&A Global Leadership team and the Singapore Country Leadership team - led by the Mercer Singapore CEO.
**We will count on you to**:
- Develop strong understanding of Mercer’s global M&A business including strategic priorities and build an aligned multi-year strategy for the Singapore and SEA markets to build and extend the M&A brand across all of Mercer’s core people services.
- Take advantage of market opportunities on both the buy/sell-side for financial sponsors (private equity, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices) and corporate (strategic) dealmakers while building alliances with multiple stakeholder groups influencing HR deal-related spend, including bankers, lawyers, boutique consultants, internal Mercer colleagues and other MMC companies
- Coordinate with multiple teams selling and delivering M&A consulting services to clients engaged in cross-border transactions. At the same time, exercise a disciplined priority focus on the primary geography driving the majority of deal flow
- Use knowledge of M&A deal activity together with an understanding of the business implications of the M&A transactions to articulate the business case for Mercer services, internally and externally.
- Support the winning of key client engagements and large, complex projects, allocating and overseeing the work of project teams
- Support and drive sales efforts and revenue generation
- Lead broader M&A projects as an Engagement Manager
- Drive effective financial management of the MCS Singapore M&A P&L
- Partner with the MCS leaders in other countries, and the Singapore & SEA CEO & Leadership Team
- Manage all M&A resources within Singapore & SEA.
**What you need to have**:
- In line with the requirements of the role, more than 15 years progressive background and experience in a sales-oriented consulting environment
- Strong business leadership skills: demonstrated effective management of P&L, strong financial management skills and talent management capabilities
- Excellent knowledge and leadership in all aspects of M&A and Transformation advisory
- Strategic analytical abilities, strong business acumen and proven commercial skills and experience
- Demonstrated ability to retain and grow revenue through large and complex initiatives. Able to develop go to market strategies to develop and grow business
- Demonstrated Team player capabilities with the experience to show establishment, building and management of effective relationships at all levels, including Senior Executives and the C-Suite. Strong stakeholder development and management capabilities along with excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Effective communicator with superior face-to-face presentation experience. Aptitude to building external market connections across clients, prospects, third party partners
- Experience in developing and driving insights and change plans, including ownership of the delivery of these, through others
