The Engineering & Architecture function within Technology Group is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary team of software architects, engineers and analysts helping GIC to build a generation-next suite of investment systems that empower the business and position GIC as the leading global long-term investment firm.
The team is looking for talented multi-faceted analysts to help construct a multi-year technology roadmap, drive meaningful product and process change, facilitate organisation-wide technology decision-making and research and evaluate emerging technology trends. This is a hybrid role combining elements of enterprise architecture, technology strategy, business analysis, product ownership, user experience and functional design, and would suit someone with a flexible, forward thinking mindset.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide thought leadership and evangelism on software delivery through modern Agile practices including product-focused thinking and experience design
- Research and evaluate emerging technology trends, industry practices and make recommendations
- Helping to construct a multi-year technology roadmap that synthesises diverse enterprise needs and business capabilities with new technology initiatives, solutions, products and innovation
- Articulate the next iterations of GIC’s technology transformation journey including product and process evolution through effective storytelling, communication and change management
- Facilitate organisation wide technology and business discussions and decision-making with respect to future enterprise direction, aligning technology capabilities with business objectives
**Skills & Competencies**
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience, gained in technology consulting or financial services IT, preferably front or middle office within Asset Management, Equity, or Fixed Income.
- This role involves working directly with diverse stakeholders including senior management, the front and middle office, developers and delivery teams so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must, alongside an ability to collaborate with a wide range of personalities at all levels
- Experience of Agile requirements engineering, user interviews, task prioritisation, backlog management, MVP definition and feeding clear, unambiguous requirements to development teams
- A mature approach to Agile product ownership based on real experience working with development teams using Agile, XP, Lean and/or continuous delivery practices
- Experience gathering, synthesising and analysing large volumes of data to inform decision making
- An understanding of UX design, SQL, the ability to query heterogeneous data sources and familiarity with HTTP API consumption and design are nice to haves but not prerequisites
- An ability to persuade others and advocate for excellence while being open to change
- An ability to create and nurture healthy working relationships through empathy and trust, with colleagues of all levels of seniority across the organisation
- Positive, friendly, collaborative and team-oriented attitude is a must-have
- Comfortable operating under uncertainty with the flexibility to adapt approach when necessary
