- Job Description for Senior Data Analyst - Data & Business Intelligence

**Background**:
The Data Analytics Strategic Engineering Centre (DA SEC) is one of six SECs under the Group Engineering Centre (GEC) in ST Engineering. DA SEC consolidates data analytics and data engineering best practices within the group, and also builds and maintains a common/reusable Data Analytics Platform product for both internal and external use by all lines of businesses.

Other than the product team, DA SEC comprises of two other teams that handle Data & BI consulting projects and production project implementations respectively.

We are currently looking for an experienced data analyst with good background in data analytics and software engineering to join the DA & BI team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Elicit requirements and highlight key business value for each project to end-customers
- Work with business unit project teams and corporate functions to develop, evaluate, refine, and deploy data pipelines & analytics models.
- Work closely with product managers, project managers, and platform developers in the implementation and deployment of the data analytics platform product for different business domains.

**Job Requirements**:

- A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Science/Engineering/Mathematics with at least 3 to 5 years of working experience in data analytics
- Ability to quickly grasp key customer needs in a diverse set of business domains & functions
- Good experience with end-to-end analytics process - ideation/value elicitation, requirements definition, data profiling, analytical modelling, testing, validation, visualization, and deployment
- In-depth technical knowledge and experience in any of the following will be a major plus
- Operations Research
- Network Analytics
- Natural Language Processing & Large Language Models
- Geometry, Topology, Geospatial Analysis
- Predictive Maintenance
- Strong problem solving skills, curiosity, and passion for data analytics
- Experienced in SQL (any flavour), Python, Spark, Java, or C
- Familiar with distributed computing, simulation, optimization, and visualization tools
- Experience in designing ETL/BI solutions
- Experience in Big Data visualization and reporting software
- Familiar with Linux/UNIX system administration
- Excellent coordination and time management skills to handle complex projects
- Willing and enthusiastic about continuous learning of new technologies and data science techniques/breakthroughs
- Effective oral and written communication with strong analytical, problem solving, multitasking and project management skills are essential on the job
