**Job Purpose**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver lesson plans that integrate Chinese language and culture education with various art forms, such as music, drama, and dance.
- Incorporate traditional and contemporary Chinese art forms to help students understand and appreciate Chinese culture, history, and values.
- Encourage students to express themselves through artistic projects and performances, enhancing their creativity and communication skills.
- Connect Chinese language and arts with other areas such as history, geography, and literature to foster a comprehensive learning experience.
- Guide students through arts-based projects and activities, assessing both their artistic development and language skills through formative and summative assessments.
- Modify teaching strategies and materials to accommodate students with different learning needs and styles, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel comfortable exploring both language and art.
- Plan and oversee student participation in cultural events, performances, and exhibitions that showcase their learning in both Chinese language and the arts.
- Continuously update knowledge on bilingual education, arts integration, and Chinese pedagogy to provide high-quality, innovative instruction.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, and involve the school community in celebrating students' artistic and linguistic achievements through showcases or events.
**Specific Tasks and Duties**
- Develop detailed lesson plans that incorporate Chinese language skills with arts activities, such as using drama to improve speaking and listening.
- Design and administer both formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' progress in Chinese language proficiency and artistic skills, providing timely feedback.
- Lead lessons on Chinese cultural traditions, such as Chinese New Year, festivals, and folklore, integrating performing arts, dance, or music to deepen cultural understanding.
- Plan and direct student performances, such as short plays, poetry readings, or musical recitals in Chinese, allowing students to demonstrate language and artistic learning in public forums.
- Facilitate extracurricular activities or clubs, such as a Chinese culture club or an performing arts workshop, giving students additional opportunities to explore language and culture through performing arts.
- Collaborate with other staff to organise cultural events, such as Chinese cultural festivals, art exhibitions, or language immersion days, involving both students and the wider school community.
- Set up and maintain a classroom environment that encourages creativity, supports bilingual learning, and ensures the safety and well-being of all students.
