Senior Manager/Deputy Director, Project Office

This is a mid-senior role that requires an individual with the ability to lead and complement research with project managerial strategies and approaches. Our research institution combines the best of research in human potential, so as to bring out the best of individuals and societies through improvements in health, education and lifestyles across the life course

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversight and development of a team with roles in project management, liaison and governance
- Works closely with senior management to prioritize development and allocation of staff and resourcing towards research project priorities within the RI
- Works in partnership with project teams and manager to drive forward momentum with projects, building shared accountability at all stages
- Develops institutional risk assessment and contingency plans in alignment with workplan priorities
- Ensures that projects and activity are aligned with organizational objectives, both operational and strategic
- Provides management with regular reporting on the research activity portfolio both on established and relevant additional KPIs
- Serves to integrate across teams to ensure alignment and connect best practices

**Requirements**:

- Effective listener and savvy communicator, with an ability to understand the needs of project and research owners and offer solutions to enhance the operational execution of projects
- Places research goals and its people at the heart of project management approaches, able to adapt and formulate tools to provide both insight for stakeholders and research performers alike
- Experience with commonly used project management tools, and a willingness to adapt or integrate new solutions over time
- Experience with cross-disciplinary and R&D teams
- Ability to lead both directly, and by influence

**Qualifications**:

- Advanced degree in Science, Medicine, Psychology, Education or other academic specialties preferred
- A min of 3 ? 5 years of commercial R&D experience would be advantageous
- Familiarity with local and international grantor requirements, or experience in a funding agency preferred
