- Assigned responsibility for the technical/ maritime operation of a group of Tanker vessels.
- Monitoring ships performances through ship reports, class survey reports, Planned maintenance reports and verification by inspection on board.
- Monitoring of certificates status and ensuring vessels are always maintained with valid International and local trading certificates.
- Daily monitoring of ship’s PMS, Defect reports, Critical/Operational Spares. Carry out trend analysis of defects and follow up.
- Daily monitoring of noon reports, ensuring data are accurate and vessels are complying with charter party Speed and Fuel consumptions.
- Monitor regularly and submit timely the IMO DCS and EU/UK MRV/ETS/FUEL EU MARITIME data to Class, Owners, Charterers and other relevant authorities and ensure vessels are complying with requirement.
- Monitoring of CII ratings of assigned vessels and raise flag to management/Owners as required. Plan to take corrective actions. Submit CII rating to Owners/Charterers as required.
- Follow up on rules/regulations and safety standards to ensure vessels are running with compliance of all international and local rules and regulations and as per company’s safety standard.
- Implementation of new regulations on board the assigned vessels.
- Ensure required spares, stores, fresh water, Lubes, provisions etc are on board at all times for safe ship operation during the entire voyage, considering VLLC/ Suez max and other types of Tanker ships.
- Approval of Requisition orders after comparing various quotes and follow up with Procure department for supply of genuine and correct spares and timely delivery.
- Sailing on board the vessels for technical inspections, audits, investigation and repairs.
- Providing maritime/technical information and support to shipboard management.
- Monitoring progress of repair and maintenance and classification/statutory surveys.
- Planning and supervision of dry-docking, major repairs, and conversions.
- Take active part in the Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Energy saving culture within the Company.
- Supporting implementation, operation, and improvement of the quality system on board through inspections and audits.
- Endeavouring to improve maintenance systems, methods, and practices
- using new technology.
- Condition survey of vessels prior to entering management contracts and in connection with purchase/sale arrangements.
- Perform internal audits of ISM, ISPS, MLC, and ISO standards - as required.
- Perform Engineering audit on board the vessels - during sailing.
- Preparation of yearly budget, in co-operation with shipboard management and presentation to Owners.
- Assisting Fleet Manager, as applicable, in preparation of periodic reports to owners on ships technical/operational status and cost development.
- Liaise with owner’s Technical and Operational departments for day-to-day activities of ships and follow up with owner’s requirements.
- Assist or substitute other superintendents as necessary.
- Participate and play active role in TMSA audits of office and ships.
- Ensure vessels are ready for Oil Major’s vetting inspection (SIRE), Flag state inspection and PSC inspections. Follow up with any observation and close out. Keep vessels always ready for such external inspection/vetting.
- Appraisal of shipboard personnel. Identification and verification of training needs of shipboard personnel whose work may cause a significant impact on safety, environment, and operations and providing feedback regarding such training needs to the Company’s management.
- Handling insurance claims during the repair period and as and when arises.
**Job Requirement**
- Sailing experience of at least 2 years in capacity of Chief Engineer on-board VLCCs and other types of Tankers in worldwide trade.
- Sailing experience of ME and RT Flex types of main engines as Chief Engineer.
- 4-5 years of experience as Technical/Engineer Superintendent for Tanker fleet, specially dealing with VLCC and Suez Max.
- Experience of attending Dry-docking and handling of Special surveys and CAP surveys of Tanker vessels.
- Familiar with handling Time Chartered ships with various Oil Majors.
- Familiar with SIRE 2.0 vetting inspection.
- Computer literate (MS Office, Excel, Outlook) and various ERP system.
- Conversant with computerized planned maintenance systems used in the Marine Industry.
- A good team player, hard-working, wiling to learn and working during off hours and weekends is required.
- Ready to sail on board and travel to overseas with short notice.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
