United Kingdom based care providers are recruiting for people who are currently working as a Nurse or care worker to come to the UK and live in their clients house to provide care for them.

Duties

To live in the frail and elderly client’s home and support their daily living. To meet the personal care and support needs of frail and elderly clients in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes their independence. The care and support provided by Care and Support Workers is expected to include support that would reasonably be given by members of the frail and elderly client’s family and is not to include tasks that would normally be undertaken by a trained nurse.

Daily Average Working Hours Agreement.

Although you will be present at the client's home for a 24-hour period, you will actually only be required to work between 8 -10 hours a day this will include: carry out duties, for the client for an average 10 hours per day, with a minimum of two hours break time in each day. You will not be expected to carry out duties in the night, but you would be expected to attend to the client in the night, if they became ill, where in pain or discomfort. Food and accommodation are provided by the client or family during the assignment. There is a private bedroom with a bed. There are wardrobes and cupboards for your use.

Skill, experience and qualifications required:
To assist frail and elderly clients who need help getting up in the morning and going to bed in the evenings, including dressing and undressing, washing, bathing and going to the toilet and/or ensure bowel management is supported.

To help frail and elderly clients with their mobility and with any physical disabilities, including incontinence and use of personal aids and equipment.

To care for frail and elderly clients who are temporarily sick and need bed nursing and help with feeding etc.

To provide care and support for frail and elderly clients who are terminally ill.

To help in the promotion of mental and physical activities of customers through talking, outings, reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.

To make and change beds, light cleaning, emptying commodes and general tidying.

To inspect, launder and mend frail and elderly client’s clothes.

To set tables and trays, prepare and serve meals, clearing away and washing up.

Supervision of safe food preparation and storage.

To read and write reports and be involved in frail and elderly clients’ reviews as required.

To adhere to all Client ’s policies and procedures at all times.

To report either to the Field Care Supervisor or Office Manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a frail and elderly client.

To encourage the independence of frail and elderly clients.

To liaise with professionals and other agencies as required.

To undertake any working duties as required during the night as far as is reasonably practicable.

To effectively communicate with other Companions allocated to the frail and elderly client.

To give emotional support as and when needed by the frail and elderly client.

Support with appointments and reminders.

Support with medication and promoting the frail and elderly client’s independence to self -administer.

Support and liaise with the frail and elderly client’s family/carers as directed by line management.

To have experience working with vulnerable people, in a nursing capacity of caring capacity.

To have knowledge of working with people requiring support due to age related illnesses.

You must have IELTS certificate B1 or above, Valid Passport, training certificates related to Nursing or Care, Police Clearance and TB test certificate.
