A Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Assoc. Prof. Andrew Tan, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
LKCMedicine’s research is motivated to shape future medicine and healthcare through disruptive discoveries and inventions that are of national and global impact. Our research programmes focus on addressing therapeutic priority areas that are relevant both locally and globally. The position is supported by NAFLD Investigation CEntre (N.I.C.E.), a research platform that integrates advanced technologies in medical imaging, molecular biology, and data analytics to provide a multifaceted approach to NAFLD management. It encompasses several key components: disease modelling, detection, characterization of biological activity, and personalized treatment strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Work self-motivatedly and collaboratively within a team environment.- Perform animal maintenance and husbandry duties.- Document and maintain accurate records of all work conducted.- Assist with administrative tasks related to research projects.- Participate in routine laboratory upkeep.
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in biosciences or veterinary technology.- Preferred experience in animal husbandry, histology, and molecular biology techniques such as PCR and western blot.- Possession of RCULA animal handling certification is advantageous.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Strong interpersonal skills conducive to collaborative work.- Organized and detail-oriented approach to work.
