Singapore REN CI HOSPITAL Full time

CLINICAL
- To utilize appropriate assessment tools to evaluate the patients’ performance components affecting their participation in self-care, work and leisure activities.
- To formulate appropriate treatment plans and goals within the inpatient stay and to re-evaluate and modify the treatment plan as required.
- To work with a multi-disciplinary team in RCH, which includes attending weekly case management meetings, participating in discharge planning in consultation with the patients, their families, the multi-disciplinary team and other external agencies involved.
- To maintain an accurate and timely patient record by documenting in the patients’ medical case notes after attending to the patients.
- To instruct and supervise therapy aides carrying out occupational therapy interventions for the patients.
- To update the individual hardcopy work plan on a daily basis and the soft copy work plan on a weekly basis.

PROFESSIONAL
- To practice occupational Therapy in accordance to the Code of Professional Conduct defined by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).
- To participate in department meetings, in-service trainings.
- To work with the volunteers within the organization if needed.
- To liase with external services, statutory bodies and other Voluntary Welfare Organisations as appropriate.
- To supervise therapy aide students on placement.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
- To update patients’ statistics daily.
- To participate actively in the implementation of organizational and departmental policies.
- To take responsibility for the maintenance and replacement of occupational therapy equipment in the department.
- To carry out other tasks or projects assigned by the seniors.

OTHERS
- To perform duties assigned by the Clinical Director or CEO.
- To participate actively as a member of for quality improvement projects at the department/hospital level.
- To assist in data collection for research projects when necessary.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
- To attend courses on CPR, Manual Handling and Fire Safety as required by the organization and professional bodies.
- To read and understand the contents of the Infection Control Manual.
- To take initiative and identify, report and resolve issues that may cause harm/injuries to people in the organization. To report all incidents or potential hazards to the reporting officer.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Academic Qualification
- Diploma in Occupational Therapy/ Degree in Occupational Therapy that is recognized by AHPC

Professional Qualification
- Post-graduate qualification or certification in treatment techniques is an advantage
- Professional Registration/Licensure
- Registered with the Singapore AHPC with valid practicing certificate.
- Highly encouraged to be a member of the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapist (SAOT).

**EXPERIENCE**
- Experience in a geriatric community hospital, long term care or nursing home setting will be an advantage.
- Mature and good team player.
