Temporary Research Assistant

This role seeks an organised research communications officer who will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the engagement and communications strategies in the Department of Communications and New Media. This role involves coordinating internal and external communication efforts.
**Contractual Period: 12 months**
**Qualifications**
- Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a social science discipline from a reputable university
- Be intellectually curious and preferably have some background and a keen interest in issues relating to the Department’s areas of focus (e.g., media and society, communication management, interactive media)
- Demonstrate experience and competency in working with and synthesising information from different sources
- Have a strong command of the English language and be able to write in a clear and engaging manner, with a keen eye for grammar, detail and accuracy
- Be resourceful in getting things done and be able to meet deadlines and work well with others
- Demonstrate competency in using social media for content creation, network and audience engagement-
- One-page cover letter (with a brief statement of relevant research experience)

- Two writing samples (min. 500 words)
- Scanned copies of academic certificates and transcripts
