Gis Developer

We are seeking a talented GIS Python Developer to join our dynamic team and drive the technical advancement of our web-based GIS map editor platform. As a GIS Python Specialist, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and scaling the backend infrastructure of our platform, leveraging Python and related technologies. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions for managing and distributing GIS data, AutoCAD files, and IoT data. This is a remote position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable backend solutions using Python, Django, and related frameworks.
- Lead the development of APIs and SDKs for seamless integration with third-party systems, ensuring adherence to industry security standards.
- Architect and optimize databases to efficiently manage and distribute large datasets, including Geospatial, Infrastructural/Architectural, and IoT data.
- Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms to enforce role-based access control and ensure platform security.
- Integrate real-time data streams from IoT devices and other sources, ensuring accurate and timely representation within the platform.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers to design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in backend development, GIS technologies, and Python ecosystem to continuously improve platform performance and capabilities.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proficiency in Python programming language and related frameworks such as Django or Flask.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and experience working with PostgreSQL or similar database systems.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for frontend integration.
- Familiarity with GIS concepts and technologies, including spatial databases, mapping libraries, and geospatial analysis.
- Knowledge of frontend technologies such as Vue.js, FeatherJS, or Mapbox is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Effective communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Previous experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is preferred.
