**Job Description: Pastry Baker
Location: North East

**Responsibilities**:

- Baking and Production:Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, including cakes, tarts, cookies, and other baked goods according to established recipes and guidelines.
Execute precise measurements, mixing, shaping, and baking techniques to ensure consistent quality and taste.
- Creativity and Innovation:Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new pastry recipes, seasonal offerings, and special items to keep the menu exciting and enticing for customers.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques and ingredients into pastry creations.
- Presentation and Decoration:Skillfully decorate and present pastries, ensuring they are visually appealing and align with the company's aesthetic standards.
Utilize various techniques such as piping, glazing, and garnishing to enhance the appearance of the products.
- Quality Control:Maintain high standards of quality by regularly inspecting ingredients, monitoring baking times, and ensuring that finished products meet the company's standards.
- Hygiene and Safety:Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards in accordance with food handling regulations.
Keep the work area clean and organized, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils.
- Team Collaboration:Work closely with other members of the culinary team, including chefs, sous chefs, and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Communicate effectively to coordinate production schedules and fulfill orders.
- Inventory Management:Assist in managing inventory by monitoring ingredient levels, placing orders, and minimizing waste.

Customer Interaction:Provide excellent customer service by answering customer queries, suggesting pastry selections, and accommodating special requests.**Requirements**:

- Minimum 1-2 years experience as a Pastry Baker or relevant role in a reputable bakery or patisserie.
- In-depth knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and ingredients.
- Creativity and artistic skills for designing and decorating pastries.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Food hygiene cert level 1 is a must.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Culinary or baking education/certification is a plus.
