Our client has a global reputation in the logistics industry, providing comprehensive distribution services including air, cargo freight and regional land transportation. They are looking for a Trade Compliance Consultant.
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of our Import & Export customs declarations and ensuring compliance with local and international Customs Rules and Regulations. You will report to a Business Process Manager.
【What you will be working on】
- Ensures Arvato has current internal export/import and compliance policies and procedures (including work instructions) to meet corporate and client requirements.
- Well-versed with Zero GST, Bonded and Free Trade Zone Warehouse Environment and its requirements for any VAS (Value added services) if required.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for global trade compliance for reporting requirements.
- Ensures that all requirements are met prior to the use of an Exemption under the ITAR or an Exception under the EAR and provide guidance to Division personnel.
- Identifies and coordinates with corporate to resolve red flags regarding proposed export or import activities.
- Ensures that all technical data is approved by the proper customer/ or customs or brokerage agency prior to releasing shipment for export out of the country.
- Coordinates with Anti-Bribery Officer/Due Diligence Coordinator for all export/import requirements for Domestic and International Consultants, Distributors, representatives, Sub-Contractors, Joint Ventures and Other Covered Parties.
- Establishes and enforces procedures to ensure restricted party screening is conducted on all transactions, including domestic transactions, to include customers, freight forwarders, suppliers, etc.
- Determines the correct classification of goods being imported or exported. Develops and retains audit trails to support the classification assigned and updates the classification database system.
- Responds to daily classification inquiries from customers, vendors, government agencies, customs brokers, and others

Understands acceptable methods of customs valuation and provide guidance to the SCM team within the organization on the appropriate method(s) to utilize for cost reporting to government agencies.
- Ensures an export/import compliance training program is executed annually for all Division stakeholders and maintains training records.
- Coordinates and ensures completion of remediation plans as a result of internal audit or other findings, as applicable

Demonstrates ethical and professional behaviour in accordance with company values.

- ** Requirement**:

- Possess a Diploma / Degree or equivalent preferred.
- Maintain valid certification for DGR and other related certifications related to trade compliance.
- Working knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
- Solid knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.
- Certified Custom Specialist is preferred, but not required.
- Possess excellent planning, communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently with mínimal direction.
