**Vacancy Overview**:
Seeking an experienced, forward-thinking individual for the position of an Adjunct Lecturer - English as Second Language (ESL). This is a junior academic position responsible for planning curriculum and course materials, and delivering curriculum. This is a part time position.
**JOB PURPOSE**
To plan and deliver ESL curriculum.
To teach ESL using appropriate pedagogy.
To develop clear instructional and assessment strategies.
To work with students to achieve IELTS 6.0.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Primary**
To plan, design and, deliver the curricula, and ensure the continuous enhancement of the student learning experience through current and innovative methods of teaching and learning.
The curriculum will consist of the developing the following skills:
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
- Listening
To maintain a broad knowledge of up-to-date curriculum development and pedagogy in relevant fields to ensure that both creative practice and teaching meets the standards expected within the College’s strategic plan.
**Essential Criteria**
- An appropriate undergraduate degree.
- ESL/TESOL/CELTA certification is mandatory.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution, with extensive breadth and depth in knowledge of teaching English to non-English speakers.
- Some experience in curriculum planning and development.
- Proficiency in appropriate Core Modules, stated above.
- Demonstrate appropriate skills in a variety of Instructional Strategies and Assessment Strategies
- Very well versed with use of technology on various platforms.
- Demonstrable interest in current trends and changes in relevant fields and the wider disciplinary and Higher Education contexts.
- Some experience in the design of teaching, learning support and assessment materials at Higher Education level.
- Team player with an ability to inspire and collaborate with colleagues at all levels. Experience in developing rapport with students of tertiary level age.
**Desirable Criteria**
- Understanding of equal opportunities and principles of anti-exclusion issues as they may impact upon areas of teaching and creative practices.
- Interest in interdisciplinarity, and creative practice that has real-world impact.

Contract length: 10 weeks
Part-time hours: 10 per week
**Salary**: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
