**JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Health Economics & Market Access participates in the local implementation of health economic strategies, oversees projects that result in favorable adoption of value propositions to assure local market access. This role includes providing information and education on health economic initiatives within Terumo BCT’s Therapeutic Apheresis business. for internal and external audiences. The Manager of Health Economics & Market Access is responsible for converting health economics and outcomes research initiatives into quantifiable tangible results and supports development of publications. This work is accomplished through understanding APAC value propositions, communicating to local budget holders and aligning with global strategies. As needed, creating cost comparison models and working locally with economic models in collaboration with KOLs (key opinion leaders) to inform HTA requirements would be a priority. Success in these efforts is evidenced by improved coverage and favorable reimbursement.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Works cross-functionally within the internal corporate environment with Clinical Affairs, Regulatory, GAPP, Commercial, Medical Affairs and Marketing colleagues in APAC. Interacts with and presents to multiple departments within Terumo BCT in APAC.
- Supporting GAPP in the development of HTA legislation and HTA-related legislation within APAC, works through GAPP to interact with national government agencies in APAC.
- Calling on local stakeholders to deliver the economic value proposition and discuss economic evidence requirements
- Implementing HEOR evidence and publication plans for Therapeutic Services group in APAC.
- Acts as APAC Health Economics & Reimbursement expert, responding to internal questions, giving presentations and creating materials for the Medical Affairs, Scientific Marketing and Therapeutic Sales group.
- Keeps abreast of current changes in HEOR; provides information internally and externally on health economics, pricing and reimbursement for therapeutic apheresis and related fields. Responsible for responding to customer inquiries relating to policy and health economics.
- Builds relationships with key clinical and outcomes thought leaders, resulting in research collaboration.
- Works closely with physicians, clinicians, health care professionals with health economics expertise to inform the economic value proposition, focusing on targeted countries.
- Works with these leaders to develop health economic education events at international and national conferences within APAC.
- Develops a network of leading experts within Health Technology Assessment (HTAs) and works through GAPP to interact with national government agencies (APAC) including major private payers, to maintain expertise relative to the evolving national healthcare environments.
- Develops and implements plan to identify, evaluate and manage researchers and health economics vendors external to the company.
- Works with local vendors or consultants to design and develop economic models including but not limited to cost-effectiveness, budget impact and cost-utility.
- Works with local vendors to design and develop publications relating to cost of care from claims data.
- Reviews and critiques medical and evidence-based outcomes literature. Updates organization on the current state of research and literature on relevant topics.
- Attends industry conferences.
- Participates in external reimbursement education seminars.
- Represents Terumo BCT on relevant working groups at APAC Med etc
- Maintains awareness of regulations governing promotional claims for health economics; ensures all regulatory and compliance internal and external guidelines are followed.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**

Education
- Knowledge required to perform at this level is generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Preferred post-graduate training in science, health outcomes/economics with a minimum of 4 years experience in a health outcomes/economics function.

Experience
- A minimum of 4 years experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
- Experience conducting health outcomes projects from inception to publication.
- Experience working with consumers of health outcomes information (Payors, HTA, MoH, Government Agencies).
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills.
- Project management expertise
- Experience providing HEOR training to internal stakeholders.
- Ideally experienced in the plasma fractionation industry or a closely related industry.
- Ideally experienced in neurology, immunology, hematology and therapeutic apheresis.
- Experience in APAC markets including China, India, Taiwan, and Korea preferred.

**Skills**:

- Interpersonal skills allowing frequent cross-functional cooperation and collaboration are required.
- Ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Fluent in Englis
