**What will you do as an Associate/AVP, Data Engineer, Data Service Layer?**
- Work closely with business end-users to implement and support data solutions using fit-for-purpose technology and methodology.
- Design robust and scalable solutions to meet business needs.
- Work with analysts and users to support enterprise data operations.
- Analyze and resolve day-to-day operational incidents and advisory to business users.
- Identify actionable trends for continual improvements from systems operations data, such as service level agreements (SLA), customer satisfaction metrics, delivery quality and team efficiency.
- Conduct workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements holistically and provide advisory to business users for their data needs.
- Play an active role in the project coordinating between multiple groups of stakeholders for project execution.
- Ensure compliance with IT security standards, policies and procedures
- Work with data governance team to build the data quality check framework and ensure the data issues are monitored, tracked, and fixed without breaching SLA.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data engineering

**What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?**
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent qualifications.
- At least 4 years of experience working as a data engineer or backend developer.
- Experience with querying RDMSs using complete SQL queries.
- Working knowledge of Oracle and MS-SQL will be a plus.
- Hands-on experience with working in Linux (or Unix-like) environment.
- Experience with workflow optimization through programmatic means such as process automation or machine learning.
- Experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Good team player, with strong analytical skills and enjoy complex problem solving with innovative ideas.
- Strong communication/people skills required to interact with data analysts, business end-users and vendors to design and develop solutions.
- Good at working with details and is meticulous for operations.
