Cyber Security Domain Lead

The primary function of this role is to lead the Cyber Security function for the business, managing the Cyber Security Specialists and ensuring their work and output aligns to the organisational priorities. Promote awareness of strategic initiatives and drive sustainable growth across the regional security practice.
You will collaborate with key customer accounts, vendor partners, as well as Telstra leadership to drive clarity of solution and services specifications, and the development of key go-to-market offerings leading to sales-team enablement and standardised security offerings.
Representing the Security domain pillar of Telstra’s international business, this customer facing role will also have direct involvement in both the existing Purple Enterprise Solutions and Capability function, and the aligned Product & Technology Product Owners.
The role will require a “finger on the pulse” in terms of being aware of new technology, trends, market conditions and business goals.
- Take ownership and drive the team in the development of Telstra and Telstra Purple’s service (consulting, professional and managed) and product offerings including specifications, commercial models, sales and marketing content and technical team enablement.
- Build and manage a team of internal and external resources to help achieve goals of the role.
- Contribute to the greater Telstra and Telstra Purple technology community as a thought leader through staying abreast new technology, innovations and awareness of business goals and market conditions.
- Support the enablement of Sales, Marketing, Presales, Delivery and Operations Teams.
- Represent the Telstra brand through customer facing and industry engagements, peering with client counterparts i.e. CISO, CTO, CIO etc.
**Key Accountabilities**
Innovation and Thought Leadership - development of client facing consulting materials to communicate the Telstra value proposition and perspective on key topics and contribute to the development of reusable IP to maximise the value that Telstra can provide to clients. Leverage this IP to build interest in Telstra Services.
Business Development and Accelerating Sales - working to develop interest with clients, assisting the sales team to differentiate Telstra Security value with consulting and leading advisory consulting engagements to shape and influence client initiatives. Key elements to this are:
- Ability to articulate across a number of core security domains, primarily focusing on enterprise security offerings
- Assist the sales teams qualify, build and close opportunities through consultative selling to deliver differentiated value to clients
- Shaping client thinking & direction through strategy and business outcome-based consulting
- Build the South Asia security pipeline and accelerate sales leveraging consulting and consulting IP for both direct business and pull through business
- Develop and maintain relationships with key Telstra Purple Vendors and Strategic Security Partners
Consulting SOW - with the assistance of the security consultants deliver to clients Statement of Works engagements directly including leveraging the wider Telstra consulting team and Telstra’s resources.
Business Financials - ensure all financial elements specific to the customer engagements are understood and maintained.
**Qualifications / Experiences**
- Experience in designing/delivery of strategic security solutions with an emphasis on Enterprise scale and complexity
- Extensive and demonstrated experience in Security Architecture and Design with the ability to get “into the weeds” and define / align strategic solution outcomes
- Strong knowledge of emerging security technology and trends such as SASE/SSE and Cloud native
- Extensive experience in consultative lead selling, critical stakeholder focused and ability to produce client facing artefacts including presentations, strategies and documentation
- Exposure to various security frameworks and methodologies such as NIST CSF, CIS MITRE as well as other best practices and technologies
- Technical leadership and management of multiple client engagements, defining and understand customer problems, development of strategies
- Exceptional communication skills, high level of technical expertise and extremely passionate about Cyber Security topics and technologies
- Provide senior security domain expertise and guidance for both clients, internal stakeholder and the security team
- Strong experience in delivering security engagements at scale to large and medium sized enterprise organizations
- Subject Matter Expertise delivered to clients across multiple technology domains (broad ICT, Networks, Converged Infrastructure, Data Centre, Cloud, Enterprise Mobility, Integrated Service Management and selected Industry Solutions.)
- Up to date certifications on one or more relevant security domains such as CISSP
