Project Title: Grammar as a Meaning-Making Resource for Literacy Development [P07/22 CAX]

Project Introduction:
The objectives of the study are to investigate how teachers teach grammar as a meaningmaking resource for literacy development and to explore how teachers and students benefit from the teaching of grammar as meaning-making. The data for this study will be (i) the teacher participants’ artefacts comprising lesson plans, language/grammar activities and worksheets, and (ii) their reflections, through interviews and written reflections, on whether such a teaching approach benefits their own teacher knowledge, and their students’ literacy development.

**Requirements**:
The applicant should possess the following
- a bachelor’s degree in English language studies/ linguistics
- be organized
- able to write and proofread

**Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities of the RA will include the following. The RA will support
- Organisation of teaching and learning artefacts shared with by teacher participants
- Transcription of participant interviews
- Collation of participant reflections
- Analysis of interviews and reflections according to broad themes
- Conducting of literature review of role of grammar in writing
- Organising and proof-reading of chapters in book manuscript
- Organisation of copyright permissions of book manuscript
- General administrative support work
- Other duties as assigned by PI
