The CRO division develops and oversees the global framework for risk identification, control, reporting, and management within the risk tolerance for the various business activities for Julius Baer, aiming at sustainable growth of the franchise. As a member of the CRO division, the incumbent is expected to abide by relevant principles and expectations as specified in the CRO Business Organisation Manual.

Operational Risk manages the risks arising from the Bank’s business activities within the risk appetite established by the Board. This involves identifying, preventing, detecting and managing significant operational risks, fosters a high degree of risk awareness across all management levels and contributes to the mitigation of risks associated with internal processes, systems, tools and people.

**YOUR CHALLENGE**:
**Core Responsibilities**
- Responsible for supporting the implementation of Internal Control Framework, performing controls and quality assurance on first line of defence controls
- Manage, investigate, and report on client co m p l ain t s, f r aud cases, and operational incidents
- Perform quarterly 2LOD fraud controls
- Manage the control inventory including ongoing coordination/support across all departments for required control updates and maintenance,
- Conducting ad-hoc investigations, including independent deep dive r e vi ew s and ass e ssm e nts on mat e rial risk e v e nts to i de ntify root c aus e s, ass e ss c ontrol e nvironm e nt, monitor risk miti g ation a c tions, and e s c alate issu e s as r e quir e d
- Support in the identification of operational risks and emerging trends through analysis of operational events, complaints, identified fraudulent behaviour, key risk indicators (KRIs), etc.
- Support reporting and monitoring of defined metrics / KRIs to management and applicable committees
- Support in the preparation of the Risk Committee presentation deck
- Facilitate the Risk & Control Self-Assessment annual process
- Understand and be familiar with the operat i onal activities of the department and support in identifying process control weaknesses
- Escalate mat e rial op e rational risk issu e s to t h e r e l e vant fun c tional mana ge m e nt an d/ or c ommitt ee s as r e quir e d
- Involved in a d - h oc risk reviews, projects and new business initiatives as r e quir e d

**Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management**
- Ensure appropriate ethical and compliant behaviour within the area of responsibility by clear demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Liaise with business / support units in the first line on all operational risk management matters
- Regularly communicate with internal stakeholders to improve efficiencies and growth of the risk management culture

**Professional and Technical**
- At least 6-8 years of Private Banking industry experience
- Strong understanding of Private Banking processes and related regulatory requirements
- Degree holder or its equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
