Roles & Responsibilities

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure database availability, performance & patch compliance in accordance with bank standards
- Provide 3rd level database support
- Troubleshooting databases and its tools within strict timelines
Point of contact to vendor support
- Evaluate releases of databases and its tools, and third party products to ensure the entire Database environment is appropriate and compliant with mínimal impact.
- Backup & Recovery
- Participate in Disaster Recovery exercise
- Capacity planning
- Define Monitoring / Alert thresholds
- Database resource management
- Database and OS tuning
- Manage database changes through change request process
- Write scripts to manage the databases
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement of the database team
- Project management for enhancement projects
- Vendor management

Experience/Skills:

- Degree/Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent
- At least 10 years of experience in RDBMS administration
- At least 5 years of experience in Oracle, MSSQL & MariaDB administration
- PowerShell & Shell scripting is required
- Excellent knowledge in Database troubleshooting
- Good knowledge in Database Backup
- Experience working in a bank is a plus
- Experience in Sybase & Hadoop is a plus
- Experience with Linux System is a plus
