**Job Summary**:
We are currently in our setup phase of our new Molecular Clinical Diagnostics Lab and are looking our pioneer team of employees to journey with us from the very start. The Senior Medical Technologist or Medical Technologist II will be responsible to perform laboratory testing and maintenance of daily operations in the clinical diagnostic laboratory so as to achieve smooth running of a quality laboratory service at all times.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Assist section leader in inventory management, quality assurance activities and updating laboratory protocols, investigation, and documentation of adverse incidents.
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new laboratory test methodologies.
- Coach medical technologist and new staff in laboratory procedures.
- To prepare specimens and perform analysis of patient specimens according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform molecular-based assays and tasks across a number of varying tests including, but not limited to, Covid-19 Testing.
- Maintain daily quality control, calibration and routine maintenance of lab testing and lab instrument.
- Verify the laboratory report with results on all performed tests and ensure accuracy and timely lab reporting.
- Any other duties as assigned by lab manager.

**Desired Skills & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Good general health and no colour blindness*
- Ability to lead, supervise, guide and train subordinates are essential
- Keen interest to learn and genuine passion, demonstrated work experience in medical technology lab setting, preferably molecular diagnostic especially RT-PCR, miRNA, early cancer detection and NGS.
- Strong team player with positive work attitude, analytical minded, result-oriented, good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to perform shift duties as required which includes weekends and public holiday as required
- _Colour-blindness is the inability to perceive differences between some colour that other people can distinguish. Using a literature search, the results indicate the prevalence of colour vision deficiency in the medical profession and medical laboratory skills. It would be a wide range of difficulties by colour blinded employees in their practice of laboratory diagnosis and techniques with a potentially of errors._
