Senior Staff Design Automation Engineer

**Responsibilities**:
MaxLinear is seeking a Senior Staff Design Automation Engineer (EDA) to join our team. In this role, you will mainly be focusing on:

- Design, develop, and maintain EDA automation scripts to improve efficiency of design and verification processes
- Collaborate with design and verification teams to understand their needs and create custom solutions
- Unify and integrate EDA tools and flows, supporting various methodologies across different user bases
- Optimize existing EDA workflows to reduce runtime and improve resource utilization
- Develop and implement tapeout automation frameworks to ensure timely execution of the tapeout process with zero errors or defects
- Automate and support QA checks for all design databases at the final stage of the tapeout process
- Provide technical support and training to design teams on the use of EDA tools and automation scripts
- Stay updated with the latest developments in EDA tools and methodologies and recommend improvements and best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to EDA tools and automation flows

Qualifications:

- Master's or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum 12 to 15 years of related experience in the semiconductor industry, focusing on EDA automation
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, and Shell Scripting
- Understand the IC design flow, including front-end and back-end processes
- Experience with major EDA tools from vendors such as Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics
- Familiarity with version control systems like Perforce
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot tool/flow/license related issues
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
