**Job purpose**:
This job is to plan and implement the research and development mainly on advanced sensing technology for build environment sector especially for geotechnical engineering, and on other R&D projects related to geotechnical engineering.

**Scopes of the work**:
2) Planning and implementing research and development on geotechnical engineering related R&D activities and technical support for actual construction projects

**Job duties**:

- Learn advanced sensing technologies such as satellite sensing, fibre optic sensing, wireless sensing etc. and geotechnical engineering
- Planning and conducting the data analysis including some coding works
- Planning and conducting the experiments in the laboratory and actual project site
- Collaborating with other researchers, engineers, and partners in Singapore and other countries
- Preparing and procuring materials and equipment for the data analysis, experiment, field test
- Security and safety management in the experiments and field test
- Writing documents, reports, and journal papers
- Arranging the meeting with relevant members
- Searching for related technical information to help the improvement of the technology

**Skill/Qualification**:

- Fundamental knowledge of geotechnical engineering
- Fundamental knowledge and skill in data arrangement and analysis
- GIS software skills and coding skills are necessary.
- Writing scientific journal papers.
