Librarian

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The role holder is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the library’s program, policies, and services to support the school’s mission and instructional objectives.

**Functional**
- Oversees the orderliness and cleanliness of the library
- Designs and develops library rules and procedures, and ensure adherence to these rules
- Provides instructional leadership to students and teachers in the use of information resources and literature
- Assists teachers, students and other faculty members in the selection and utilization of appropriate resources, technologies, and general literature
- Selects and orders resources consistent with system policies and with school curriculum needs
- Ensures the library selection of materials aligns with and supports the school curriculum and individual needs of students, teachers and other users of the library
- Facilitates and maintains a centre that fosters a positive and conducive learning environment
- Plans school library programmes to meet the needs of students
- Maintains the Library database in accordance with professional standards

**Interaction**
- Works closely with teachers on integrating library services and multimedia materials with the school curriculum
- Serve as a resource consultant for teachers, providing ideas and materials for classroom curriculum and acting as an aid in interpreting and communicating intellectual content
- Addresses enquiries from teachers, students and other faculty members

Pay: $2,500.00 - $3,000.00 per month
