**What the role is**
- Specifically, as a member of the MTI IRD R&D team, you will: Drive new policies, strategies and plans to enhance research, innovation and enterprise development among the business and research communities. The aim is to ensure that the Singapore economy and enterprises remain competitive so as to create good jobs for our people.

**What you will be working on**
- The role entails the following:

- Develop desired policy outcomes and key strategic thrusts for the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) domains and strategies led by MTI;
- Identify new areas of R&D capabilities which Government could potentially commit resources to, to position the Singapore economy for the future;
- Support the policy processes relating to the resourcing, budgets and performance measures for A*STAR; and
- Work with relevant agencies in the RIE community, in particular A*STAR, on the messaging and communication to the general public, business community and the scientific community to promote R&D as a source of long-term competitive advantage for Singapore.

**What we are looking for**
- Requirements You should have:

- Experience or interest in policy formulation, scheme design or project management. A background in, or familiarity with Science & Technology will be an advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
