1127 Teacher Aide

Work Location: Toa Payoh

Working Hours:

- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break

Contract Period: 1 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2025.

**Job Description**:
**1. **Detention Sessions (DS) Co-ordinator**:

- Supervise **Detention Sessions **(DS) from Monday to Friday, after school until 4.30pm.
- Implement, monitor, and supervise DS, ensuring **consistency in processes **and following up on procedures.
- **Follow up with defaulters **of DS.
- Maintain, compile, and upkeep **detention records and data **.
- **Update Form Teachers (FTs) **on detention attendance.
- Ensure DS serves as an **effective deterrent **for truancy and late-coming.

**2. **Maintain Operations of Student Management (SM) Centre**:

- Manage and maintain **operations and data records **at the Student Management Centre, including loan and issuance of items, lost and found, early leave records, attendance, and updating of school data management system.
- Attend to students dropping by the Student Management Centre and **liaise with teachers/YHs/HODs/SLs **as needed.

**3. **Case Management and Follow-up**:

- Collaborate with the **Student Management Team **to monitor the development of students involved in disciplinary measures.
- Refer and update **HOD/YH/SL **on potential discipline issues based on observations and information.
- **Follow-up actions **with student offenders after investigations, such as monitoring completion of assignments, in-house suspension, afterschool detention, etc.
- **Track student movement **by managing daily sign-in/out for students.
- Assist HOD/YH in following up on **frequent absentees **.
- **Accompany officers **on house calls and home visits when needed.
- Assist in liaising with **Police/relevant authorities **for verifying student involvement in cases.

**4. **Maintain School Tone**:

- Work with the **School Management Team and Operations Managers (OM) **to ensure school security and maintain a positive school tone.
- Conduct **regular monitoring **and foot patrolling within and outside school.
- **Monitor non-structured school hours **(e.g., recess, after school) to prevent disruptive behaviors.
- **Check on external visitors **and coordinate with school officers to attend to visitors' needs.

**5. **Support During Examinations**:

- Collaborate with relevant **HOD/Key Personnel **to support during school and national exams by:Patrolling to ensure a conducive environment and maintain school tone.
**Escort duties **for students.
Manage students in the **waiting area **during oral examinations.

**6. **Assist Physical Education Department**:

- Support the **Physical Education Department **during school and external sport/game activities and events.

**7. **Monitor After School Engagement Programmes**:

- **Assist in monitoring **at-risk students in the **GEAR UP Programme **during after-school engagement sessions.

**8. **Monitor Extended School Term Self-Study Programme**:

- Assist in monitoring students identified for **Extended School Term Self-Study Programme **during term breaks.

**9. **SM Data and Records Management During Term Breaks**:

- Maintain and compile records of **routine/daily non-compliances **(e.g., attire, late-coming, handphone misuse).
- **File SM records **for student profiling.
- Maintain **latecomer data **in the school data management system as specified by **HOD/SM **.

Job Requirement
- Full GCE ‘O’ or its equivalent work experience (please attach CV)
- Able to connect and maintain good rapport with students.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Word and Excel.
- Able to manage the online school data management tools.
- An eye for details and ability to multi-task
- Keen learner and good team player
