The Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring that the work is carried out according to the contract, specifications, and relevant regulatory standards. The role involves working closely with contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to maintain a high standard of quality, safety, and efficiency.

- Oversee and supervise all aspects of construction work on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
- Monitor the progress of construction activities and resolve any technical or operational issues that may arise during the execution phase.
- Ensure that the work is carried out within the scope, quality, and safety standards defined in the project documentation.
- Inspect materials, workmanship, and project execution for quality compliance.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure that construction work adheres to approved plans, regulations, and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and deviations from the planned works.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, contractor, and other stakeholders on-site.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with the contractor, consultants, and other team members regarding project updates and potential issues.
- Ensure that all construction activities are conducted in accordance with local health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular site safety audits and ensure that all workers are equipped with the necessary safety gear.
- Respond promptly to safety incidents, conduct investigations, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Review and verify the contractor’s daily reports, progress, and any changes to the scope of work.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all site activities, including reports, change orders, and communications with stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, claims, and other documentation required for project tracking and approval.
- Monitor the construction budget and assist in managing costs to avoid overruns.
- Ensure that the construction activities are progressing according to the established schedule and suggest adjustments where necessary.

**Requirements**:
- **Educational Qualifications**:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- **Experience**:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction or civil engineering, with prior experience as a Resident Engineer or Site Engineer.
- Experience in large-scale construction projects, particularly in infrastructure or building construction, is preferred.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Singaporean construction standards, codes, and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, quality control, and site safety.
- **Soft Skills**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenges effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- **Certifications**:
- Certification in Project Management or Construction Safety (e.g., SCEM, ISO 9001, OHSAS) is a plus.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or qualified under local regulatory bodies (e.g., Professional Engineers Board Singapore) is an advantage.
