Job Description & Requirements

The Machinist/Technician works under guidance to carry out structured work. He follows standard work instructions and procedures while doing so. He sets up and operates special machines to create components and parts.

He reads and interprets manuals and specification for a job. In turn, he decides the details of work pieces. He also has to review sequence of operations and set-up requisites. He observes the machines and detects malfunctions. In turn, he/she makes adjustments to make sure operations are smooth.

He must be able to handle cutting tools and materials. He works in a team to reach production targets. He also complies with, and reports issues in workplace safety and health requisites.

~ Use hand tools.
~ Carry out cleanroom practices.
~ Carry out dimensional and geometric measurements.
~ Carry out general machining.
~ Carry out basic productivity practices.
~ Carry out general assembly.
~ Carry out Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policy.
~ Define technical drawings and blueprints.
~ Give go-the-extra-mile service.
~ Handle basic measurement devices.
~ Install electrical sensors.
~ Operate air-pressure systems.
~ Operate liquid-pressure systems.
~ Perform machine programming.
~ Perform wire cut machine operations.
~ Run programmable logic controller.
~ Spot hazards and uphold risk control measures.
~ Use approved methods in manufacturing.
~ Use biomedical products assembly skills.
~ Use precision measuring equipment to carry out basic workshop practices.
