**Description**:

- Responsible for performing FPSO Mechanical and Piping layout design activities using projectapproved 2D drafting systems.
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environment has the highest priority in all activities undertaken by the
discipline personnel.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Perform Mechanical and Piping layout design.
- Coordinate design activities with other engineering disciplines and facilitate their participation.
- Ensure all the design deliverables are prepared to project and Company standards.
- Ensure that work is checked effectively before issuance, to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Implement clash management.
- Lead development and upgrade of design practices, where appropriate.
- Leadership and supervision of design team.
- Allocate design/drafting work to team members, and ensure that personnel work within their competencies with appropriate supervision.
- Advise engineering and project management of any problem areas, slippage, scope changes, etc., which could affect project completion.
- Estimate cost, time and resource requirements for design/drafting work in cooperation with Project
- Engineering Manager and Lead Discipline Engineers.
- Work within budgeted manhours and schedule.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

**Requirements**:

- Familiar with the prime drivers related to FPSO topside layout design.
- Minimum 15 years proven experience in all aspects of Mechanical and/or Piping layout design; involved in design of substantial facilities for oil-&-gas projects.
- Minimum Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Drafting.
- Working knowledge of safety in design.
- Good technical, practical and leadership experience in Mechanical and/or Piping discipline, preferably including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary team.
- Good management skills including the ability to plan, set goals; and manage time, priorities, resources, accountabilities, schedules and cost.
- Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client technical authorities, and client’s project management representatives and approving bodies.
