A leading international asset management firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Risk Analyst to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and managing credit risk associated with investment activities, ensuring the preservation and enhancement of the fund's assets. You will play a pivotal role in evaluating counterparty creditworthiness, analyzing credit exposures, and implementing risk mitigation strategies across a diverse portfolio of investments.
**Your Role**:
- Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments on counterparties, including financial institutions, corporations to evaluate creditworthiness and assess default probability.
- Analyze financial statements, credit ratings, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors to identify credit risk exposures and potential vulnerabilities within the investment portfolio.
- Develop and implement credit risk policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure effective risk management practices in alignment with the fund's investment objectives and risk appetite.
- Monitor credit exposures and portfolio concentrations, assessing potential impacts on overall portfolio risk and liquidity, and recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the potential impact of adverse market conditions or economic downturns on the fund's credit portfolio.
- Collaborate with investment teams, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to provide credit risk insights and recommendations for investment decisions.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry best practices, and emerging risks in credit markets, advising senior management on potential implications for the fund's credit risk exposure.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on credit risk metrics, portfolio performance, and emerging credit trends for senior management and board of directors.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA) preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in credit risk analysis within the investment management, or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies, financial analysis techniques, and credit rating agencies' methodologies.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and risk management tools/software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful insights.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey credit risk concepts and recommendations clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
**This is a 1 year contract role, with a strong possibility to convert to a permanent role.**
**Salary - $200k (Fixed)**
