Job Summary:
Plan and develop an age appropriate and unique curriculum, provide guidance to centre leaders on the use of curriculum, and enhance the quality of the curriculum and always uphold and integrate Tzu Chi humanistic educational values.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development
- Design, review, and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to preschool children's cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
- Ensure alignment with early childhood education standards and regulatory requirements.
- Incorporate diverse teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
2. Teacher Support and Training
- Conduct training sessions for preschool teachers on curriculum implementation, instructional strategies, and classroom management.
- Provide ongoing guidance and professional development to improve teaching practices and ensure consistency.
- Offer support in creating or modifying lesson plans that meet educational objectives.
3. Monitoring and Assessment
- Develop assessment tools to measure children's developmental progress and the effectiveness of the curriculum.
- Analyze assessment data and use it to improve instructional methods and curriculum design.
- Ensure continuous evaluation and improvement of the preschool's curriculum based on feedback and outcomes.
4. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with preschool administrators, teachers, and parents to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of the students.
- Collaborate with other specialists (such as special education staff) to create an inclusive curriculum that supports children with special needs.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's learning and developmental progress.
5. Research and Innovation
- Stay updated with the latest trends, research, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Incorporate innovative approaches to learning, such as play-based learning, sensory activities, and Tzu Chi humanistic culture and values integration.
6. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure that the preschool's curriculum adheres to local early childhood education guidelines.
- Maintain comprehensive records of curriculum plans, assessments, and evaluations.
- Assist in preparing the school for audits, accreditation, and evaluations by external agencies.
**Skills**:
- Minimum Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education or higher
- Competent in Microsoft Office in Excel and Word
- Sound pedagogical knowledge and skills on child development
- Strong and innovative curriculum development experience, skills and knowledge
- Competent in communication and written skills
- Open to new ideas and feedback
- Multi-tasking, able to work independently and also a team player
- Show initiative, self-driven, highly motivated and work collaboratively to make improvements in curriculum design to meet organizational need
Qualification and Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education or higher
- Minimum 3-5 years in similar field with at least 3 years in Senior/Lead Teacher position
- Familiar with MOE Nurturing Early Learners Framework and ECDA Early Years Development Framework
- Strong knowledge of ECDA Regulatory Standards & Singapore Preschool Accreditation Framework (SPARK) Quality Rating Scale (QRS)
- Experience with SPARK Assessment and SPARK DV
