1. Role Description:
A curriculum developer creates a curriculum that delivers learning objectives. These roles work with education professionals to develop materials for instructors to use in their courses. Curriculum developers observe classes and create a curriculum that increases student success.

2. Specific Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a strong command of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, and language usage. Stay updated on language trends and developments to create accurate and relevant curriculum material.
2. Familiarize yourself with curriculum design principles and frameworks. Understand the process of setting clear goals and objectives, sequencing content, and aligning assessments to create a coherent and effective English curriculum.
3. Gain knowledge of educational theories and pedagogical approaches relevant to English language teaching. Understand concepts such as learner-centered instruction, active learning, and differentiated instruction to inform your curriculum design decisions.
4. Focus on developing curriculum materials that address the key language skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Ensure that your curriculum includes a balanced and comprehensive approach to skill development.
5. Learn about various assessment strategies and tools for evaluating English language proficiency. Understand how to design both formative and summative assessments that accurately measure student progress and inform instructional decisions.
6. Consider the cultural and multilingual aspects of English language teaching. Develop an understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners in the English language classroom.
