Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. As Microsoft’s Cloud business continues to grow, the acquisition and development of our owned, designed and constructed Data Centre facilities will continue to scale to meet the demands of our customers.
CO+I is developing and executing strategies to deliver owned and developed land sites, to scale our business into the future. Our focus is on smart growth, directing strategic scaling through high quality, cost effective and innovative solutions to meet demand and to reduce cost and impact of our overall delivery.
Sitting within Infrastructure Planning & Acquisitions (IPA), we are responsible for the delivery and pre-positioning of real estate to build Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure.
**Land Acquisition Manager**
We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the infrastructure that powers Microsoft’s online services. We work hard, play hard, and make history. We also care about people, growth, excellence, and results.
This Land Acquisition Manager will be based in Singapore, report to the APAC Director and will be responsible for land acquisition in the allocated APAC regions.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a significant contribution and impact to one of the largest data center portfolios. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to improve and expand our infrastructure in various APAC markets.
You’ll develop close working relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders, perform market and financial analysis, evaluate property solutions within our standards and guidelines, negotiate data center and other deals, and close them. You should also have a demonstrated ability to negotiate multimillion dollar contracts from business and technical perspectives.

**Responsibilities**:
- Evaluate, select, negotiate, and recommend acquisitions for approval.
- Ability to negotiate effectively.
- Manage the acquisition processfor land within assigned geographies, including the management of cross-border teams consisting of multiple client groups, coworkers, contractors, and vendors.
- Coordination with development, engineering, construction, project managers and legal teams amongst others, to enable evaluation of acquisition targets.
- Manage multiple assignments across APAC.
- Provide input into the long-term delivery strategy to drive real estate acquisitions that support the Microsoft Cloud transformation.
- This position will require periodic travel to assigned geographies.
**Qualifications**:
- The right person will possess a combination of
- (a) both technical and business acumen.
- (b) minimum 10 years of experience in business development transactions, real estate transactions with significant technical components, site selection, economic development, and/or program/product management experience; and
- (c) familiarity with infrastructure development and operating environments.
- Be able to demonstrate a successful history of negotiation and deal-making experience.
- Ability to negotiate legal documents and interact with legal resources.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Ability to recognize and communicate real estate, technical, and construction requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or related fields.
- Positivity, especially in the face of ambiguity and dynamic project requirements.
- Proven track record of positively influencing teams and their leaders.
- Ability to connect and engage with all teams at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
