The role will entail working alongside a friendly team of experienced researchers to develop Machine Translation and deploy it to our online video conference product. It will also involve researching on different aspects of Speech including ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition)

**Responsibilities**:

- Research, propose, and execute next-generation model architectures
- Prototype new techniques, compare results, and work with ML Engineering team
- Research and develop state of the art ML Models
- Work closely with the ML Engineering team in influencing the roadmap and execution
- Propose and implement metrics to measure the model performance
- Work with the customers and product manager to understand the pain points and iterate

**Key Qualifications**
- Ability to lead research to improve machine-learning algorithms which understand text, audio, speech, and other modalities
- Experience holding an academic, industry, or government research scientist position
- Ph.D. from top tier university in machine learning or related field (AI, computer science).
- Experience leading a project to solve complex modelling problems with machine learning
- Highly experienced in theoretical and empirical research for addressing research problems
- Experienced with basic software development (C++, Python, etc)
