Vice President, Product Control

Product Control is the face of finance to the sales and trading desks at Securities. They provide financial control and transparency through providing a profit and loss statement and balance sheet which is accurate and timely, supporting the desk in the execution of their business strategy; and evaluating and integrating new products into the financial environment.

**Summary**:
The Vice President, Product Control Role will be taking ownership of production, preparation and reporting of the daily P&L and Risk. The incumbent will have strong product control experience in FIC Products. They would have the ability to partner with senior management across various departments on business requirements and with IT to implement robust processes to provide high quality output in a timely manner. There would also be opportunity to train and mentor the junior team members.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ownership of production, preparation and reporting of the daily P&L and Risk
- Front-to-Back reconciliations, P&L Commentary, verification of manual adjustments
- Provision and IPV Adjustments - ensure the accuracy and sufficiency of reserves and valuation adjustments as required by policy with strong understanding for the reasoning of reserves.
- Balance Sheet substantiation - check and review balance sheet items related to trading desks, coordinate with other key stakeholders
- Provide detailed analysis and reporting on the financials to desk heads and senior finance management
- Partner with seniors to implement robust controls and document procedures on an on-going basis
- Work closely with local financial reporting team in Singapore and regional finance team in Hong Kong to fulfill group control requirements

**Experience requirements**:

- 7+ years of work experience in one of the relevant areas (e.g. Product control, Financial Control) in an Investment Bank / Trading house
- Working relationship with stakeholders - business, infrastructure teams (risk, operations, IT), internal / external auditors
- Team lead experience - motivating staff to go the extra-mile, planning work load
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills (Strong data analytics, including ability to manipulate large datasets)
- Ability to working independently and collaboratively and thrive in fast-paced and deadline-driven environments
- Strong analytical mind, excellent verbal and written communication skills to present to senior management.

**Education requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics
- Relevant professional body experience CPA/CIMA/ACA/ACCA or CFA preferred
- Experience of using Murex (desirable)
