Job Description Summary

The principal function is to provide oversight and full ownership of certain HarbourVest management company legal entities in Asia-Pacific (APAC) and other regions as well as to provide support to the broader team. Additional support includes budgeting, forecasting and analytical reporting as well as overseeing certain audits. Projects include process improvement and digital transformation work to streamline operations and enhance controls.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting of HarbourVest (HV) APAC management company entities (HV Singapore, HV Asia, HV Beijing, HV Japan, HV Korea and HV Australia)

Oversee and participate in the following:

- Partner with the APAC leadership team, cross functional leaders, and other members of the finance team to provide advice on financial implications of APAC business activities and to ensure business objectives are delivered
- Consolidate APAC entities and report financial results to APAC leadership
- Prepare the quarterly general ledger closing of the HV management company assigned entities including quarterly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
- Coordinate payments for assigned HV APAC subsidiary entities including managing accounts payable and providing adequate funding. Maintenance of the general ledger and perform accounting close on a quarterly basis
- Reconcile accounts with third party administrators quarterly
- Stay current on changes to accounting regulations in all jurisdictions
- Drive efficiency, optimization, and automation of business processes and develop and document accounting policies to standardize processes and strengthen internal controls

Corporate Audits and APAC Board Support:

- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with local accounting requirements
- Assist in coordinating and overseeing the audits for the APAC corporate entities
- Liaise with the outside auditors to ensure the timely completion of audits including addressing audit inquiries
- Prepare quarterly business reviews for APAC leadership team and APAC boards

Corporate Budgeting:

- Oversee preparation and execution of planning targets through specific budgeting details for functional area supported
- Serve as a liaison with business leaders and assists in the development of detailed budgets
- Prepare budget to actual reports and forecasts/re-forecasts to APAC leadership and Finance for income statement items, capital expenditures, and headcount. Provide robust analysis and explanations regarding variances and forecast changes thereto at an executive summary level

Regulatory Reporting:

Manage the preparation of and filing of several regulatory schedules, including
- Monitor regulatory capital/liquidity compliance for HV APAC subsidiaries
- FRR filing in HK for the SFC
- Oversee MAS filing in Singapore

Other:

- Provide assistance and support on special projects as needed
- Prepare and or review HV meeting allocations (e.g. Japan Annual Meeting)
- Second Review expense reports for proper expense allocations (fund versus firm) and integrate expense report batches into the general ledger

Education

BS-Accounting/Finance

Work Experience

5-10 years accounting experience, CPA preferred
