MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB & BUSINESS CONTEXT

This role will be interacting with various stakeholders across Unilever and provides an excellent learning ground for the individual to strive and succeed.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Be the lead for UAPL Financial Reporting matters, working with various teams to ensure on time and in full month-end closing (MEC) submissions to London office, with robust analytics performed, providing good updates to management.
- Manage the respective month-end financial and management reporting in accordance with the closing timeline
- Conduct monthly Balance Sheet review within Controller team and Coordinate for quarterly Balance Sheet review with wider business units’ stakeholders / Finance Business Partners (FBPs) to ensure balance sheet hygiene position maintained.
- Audit lead (external and internal) - working with both internal and external auditors to ensure UAPL controls are effective and produced reports are accurate. Coordinate within R2R team to ensure the controls performance and evidence filed accordingly.
- Being the main contact point when working with external auditor for annual audit exercise including preparation of financial statements for UAPL.
- Be the Centre of Excellence in providing financial and accounting technical advice. Be continuously up to date with Financial Reporting Standards (“FRS”) developments and consider appropriate implementations and provide impact assessments relevant for the Company.
- Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in full compliance with accounting standards of Unilever and local legislation. Execute new accounting, reporting changes and deploy relevant financial tools/system directed by Unilever Group through effective partnership with various stakeholders.
- Active communication with GCAD (Group Chief Accounting Department) in London for transaction & reporting updates.
- Working closely with other Finance teams to have an overall view of UAPL reporting structure, ensuring good end-to-end reporting process is in place.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Required:

- Working experience in Financial Accounting, preparing the statutory Financial Statements and Month-End Closing report.
- Strong accounting fundamental and knowledge in drafting the Financial Statements.
- Ability to manage a team of outsourced overseas service providers (3 - 4 people) effectively, providing them with clear directions and solutions to execute the required.
- Strong capability to work with Operating Center (based in Malia) and external parties (Audit and Tax firms) to deliver targeted KPIs.
- Technically strong and intelligent.
- Organized, meticulous, motivated, mature, work well with mínimal guidance, team-player.
- Enjoys solving issues and possesses an inquisitive mind, constantly looking out for better ways of working.
- Works well under pressure and results driven.
- Appreciates the importance of excellent processes and have an eye to ensure compliance and governance is in place for all process implementation.

Desirable:

- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in an accounting / finance role. Working Experience with a Big 4 firm is preferred.
- Strong SAP knowledge is an advantage.
