Gameplay Programmer

LAI Games is an arcade experience company that connects people with games. Our vision is to reinvent the arcade industry by creating an arcade experience ecosystem that consists of physical arcade games, consumer and location-based VR games and experiences, and other exciting arcade-based titles. **What You’re Responsible For**

For the position of Gameplay Programmer (Internship), the person will be responsible for working within the rapid prototyping process to meet the needs of the creative team when it comes to testing gameplay ideas, features or systems.

The Creative team is responsible to build and deliver innovation across the organisation be it through games or workflows. We are a group of designers, artists and programmers who value the importance of constant iterations, no matter how minor, and our strength is our focus on research.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields.
- Knowledge of C++, C#, Unity. Knowledge of Unreal Engine blueprints is a plus but not a must. Familiar with 2D and 3D workflows.
- A portfolio that showcases a mix of university projects (games) and side projects that have experimented with various gameplay mechanics in 2d and 3d.
- VR development experience is a big plus, at least having dabbled with VR templates and understand systems within engines like Unity and Unreal Engine.
- Experience in best practices when it comes to source control (Git, Perforce)
- A calm and confident mindset that puts team first. Ability to take feedback, iterate fast and dirty.
- A problem-solving attitude where uncertainty is embraced, and problems are looked at from different perspectives.
- Eagerness to learn continuously and move out of one's comfort zone.
