DESIGNATION : Senior/Manager, Manufacturing
RESPONSIBILITIES
**ROLE / JOB SUMMARY**:
We are looking to hire a highly motivated, hands-on Senior Manager of Manufacturing, who will be responsible to design and start-up Solar Manufacturing Plants globally.
Working with multiple departments, this role is also expected to design manufacturing shop floors so that the organization’s new production lines can comply with safety and quality requirements and ensure “world-class” manufacturing performance.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Management
- Reports to Senior/Director, Manufacturing, Planning and Logistics.
- Designs new Cell and/or Module factory shop floor for state-of-the-art Solar Factories globally.
- Leads Start-Up for Cells & Modules factory Manufacturing department consisting of Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Leaders, Technicians and Operators in Cell Factory.
- Accountable to establish & meet Production Output, Factory Cost, Budgeting, Yearly Productivity improvement, and Man model manning during the start-up phase.
- Ensures Safety & Quality of established legislation complies to during the Start-Up Phase.
- Develops, coaches teams and establishes bench-strength and succession planning.
- Mentor/Responsible/Coordinate for the overall plan to form the team to hire the Local Site Management Team and staffing.
Technical Duties
- Designs, executes and drives Lean manufacturing concepts such like, Shop Floor Management, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, First in First Out methodology, cycle time manufacturing.
- Negotiates and develops good ethical relationships with suppliers & vendors.
- Establishes and rigorously sets up Good Benchmark on technical competencies (current & future) to ensure World Class shop floor designs.
Strategic
- Be Part of cross departments projects/programs to ensure as well as, developing methods and parameters, project methodology and/or project proposals.
- Drives initiatives relating to business needs when tasked.
- Understands and be familiar with Knowledge of manufacturing industry practices to drive the departments to excellence.
- Works closely with stakeholders to meet the target cash cost goals of the organization and project cost.
- Responsible for succession plan including talent identification and career planning for key functions.
- Must be willing to take additional projects as and when needed by the management.
- Strong sense of ownership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering (Electrical/Physics/Chemistry/Mechanical/Manufacturing/Material) in a recognized University. 2nd Upper Honors and above degree preferred.
- Minimum 10-12 years working experience in Production or Manufacturing in a fast paced manufacturing industry in a MNC is advantageous.
- Having experience in Start-ups manufacturing is advantageous.
- Minimum 4 years working experience in handling a group of Production or managers in a manufacturing industry.
