Team Introduction
The Travel Security team is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of ByteDance employees around the world while they are traveling for the company. This includes creating a country risk rating system, travel authorizations, pre-travel information and briefings, security training, managing relationships with 3rd party vendors, and working with international travel insurance providers.

About the Role
Every country, and some cities, around the world are rated on a risk scale of 1-4 (Low, Medium, High, Extreme). This position will be very critical to helping monitor global events and working closely with cross functional partners to maintain accurate risk ratings so that our employees are safe and have necessary levels of support.

In the role, you will support the management of international travel security, risk identification and incident management, while promoting a robust and positive security culture across the company.
You will oversee and/or support travel operations in high risk environments, risk mitigation projects, and policies & procedure creation in order to deliver excellent results and respond to urgent matters in a timely manner. Keeping up with geopolitical environment; building positive rapport with local security assets; and responding to security incidents will also be key components of this role.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design, implement, and constantly improve travel safety and security programs internationally.
- Track global events that could, directly or indirectly, impact ByteDance and its assets, sharing commentary, analysis and data.
- Create travel security risk assessment and establish travel security plans that mitigate risks for travellers.
- Assess and provide guidance to business leaders to help them navigate risk controls and defined processes to manage Medium, High, and Extreme risk travel requests.
- Co-facilitate sessions on geopolitical risk analysis for the Physical Security team to review country risk ratings as needed
- Provide risk reduction advice and guidance from specialist partners to advise the business on how to reduce exposure to travel associated security, medical and other types of threats.
- Implement a travel incident response plan with cross functional coordination and escalation, facilitating debrief sessions to discuss and action observations and learnings.
- Manage specialist security and travel vendors at a tactical level, ensuring the Service Level Agreements are being met.
- Monitor global travel and provide travel security reports to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Ensure requests for assistance are managed in a timely and effective manner, serving as a first point of contact for employees travelling to high risk destinations.
- Collaborate at an operational level with internal and external stakeholders that support the travel security programme.
- Maintain travel security documentation and conduct training and engaging information sharing sessions with employees.
- Contribute content to travel security interactive learning and other channels related to travel security.
- Support the regional Crisis Management Team Coordinators in maintaining crisis management documentation and provide guidance and support during activations.
- Identify areas of improvement and gaps in the program, then address or escalate them as needed.
- Lead or participate in other relevant Physical Security projects or objectives.
- Bachelor degree in a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a travel security or risk analysis management role, either in-house or contracted.
- Global situational awareness and a strong understanding of, or keen interest in, geopolitics, international security, and current affairs.
- A proven proficiency of OSINT and the full intelligence cycle as well as the ability to effectively compile security assessments and intelligence reports.
- Depth and breadth of travel security knowledge, principles, and practices, with experience in operating across high risk environments.
