Job Title: Senior Java Backend Developer (5+ Years Experience)
Location: Singapore
Roles & Responsibilities:

- Implement UI components using HTLM5, CSS3, SCCS and TypeScript.
- Optimize the user experience by creating intuitive and accessible interfaces.
- Participate in the design and architecture of high-performance backend systems that meet scalability, security, and availability requirements.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for backend systems.
- Ensure backend services are efficient, secure and scalable.
- Integrate APIs with frontend components
- Design and implement efficient database models using Hibernate for ORM (Object-Relational Mapping).
- Write complex SQL queries and integrate with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Optimize database queries and transactions for performance and scalability.
- Conduct code review to maintain coding standards.
- Write and execute unit tests using Junit, Mockito, other testing frameworks.
- Troubleshoot and debug backend systems to address issues related to performance, reliability, or security.
- Write unit tests, integration tests, and perform code reviews to ensure the highest quality of code and system reliability.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git and Docker.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and designers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Skills required
- 5+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
- Proven experience with building scalable and high-performance backend services and microservices.
- Experience in RESTful API design and development.
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and SCSS
- Expertise in Spring Boot and related technologies (Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, etc.).
- Extensive experience with Hibernate and JPA for ORM and database interactions.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and tools like Docker, Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is beneficial.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Knowledge of REST and SOAP web services.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment.

Preferred Certifications:

- Spring Professional Certification (Spring Framework).
- Java SE or Java EE certifications (Oracle Certified Professional).
- Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Developer, Google Cloud Professional Developer).
