**What the role is**

**What you will be working on**
- Assist the shelter clinic manager in the set up of the shelter clinic, including preparation of documents for audit inspection.
- Assist veterinarians in veterinary examination, triage, veterinary and surgical procedures, restraint, medication and health records of animals.
- Support the management and upkeep of the shelter clinic.
- Supervise and train staff in the daily care and well-being of animals, including feeding, husbandry, exercise, showering and grooming of animals.
- Assist with and review animal shelter operations, including maintaining veterinary and clinical records, management of data and inventory, feedback management, procurement of shelter and clinic supplies, using computer systems where necessary.

**What we are looking for**
- Diploma in Veterinary Technology, Veterinary Bioscience or Biomedical Science with at least 6 months of relevant working experience at an animal shelter or as a veterinary technician
- Competent in handling, restraint and medication of common companion animal species, including but not limited to dogs, cats, small mammals and birds and limited species of wildlife
- Positive attitude, meticulous, energetic, physically fit, enjoys outdoor activity, and passionate about animals.
- Independent and able to work effectively with others in a team environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Required to work on weekends and public holidays based on roster
