Care Corner Singapore Ltd was founded in 1981, in a climate of changes in the early 1980s, as economic competition in the region intensified and the rift between the wealthy and the lower-income in particular the Chinese blue-collar workers, widened. Rev Tan Tien Ser and a group of passionate individuals believed that these marginalised people with lower income and little opportunities for a formal education could be helped to realise their potential and become more competent and fulfilled persons. Through a series of early outreach initiatives, Care Corner has evolved into an organisation offering a wide range of programmes and services delivered through various social service centres located island-wide. In a bid to stay relevant to the needs of the community, Care Corner has continuously strived to offer new and innovative programmes to support those in need and the less privileged.
DESIGNATION : Asst Senior Social Worker/Social Worker (Youth Services)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support in the operations at Youth Services (YS) and assist in the conceptualization and implementation of delivery of services to our clients in the community and in schools. YS works in a variety of settings, serving our clients in the community via outreach, mandated state programmes and school upstream intervention programmes. The role will have exposures to the wide plethora of work with our adolescents to achieve positive developmental outcomes for our young clients.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conceptualize, plan and execute programmes and activities with adolescents in the different settings (school, community, mandated programmes, etc)
- Lead teams of youth workers in planning, conceptualizing programmes and curriculum with the team, at both group settings and individual one to one settings
- Manage and supervise individual intervention plans and management of individual adolescents
- Partake in research and evaluation of current programmes run by the service group, oversee research projects that help to advance our understanding of adolescent development and our delivery of programmes in the various settings
- Support Tech Leads in planning and developing curriculum and material for training sessions at service group level
- Mentor and coach junior colleagues to help develop their competency in accomplishing work tasks related to adolescents and at Youth Services
***Requirements**
- Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work
- 3- 5 years of working experience, with 2 years of mentoring and guiding young colleagues
- Ability to work independently to conceptualize, design, deliver and evaluate programmes would be required
- Able to partake in sports and physical activities when needed
