**Job Responsibilities & Requirements**:
Scope of work requested for the services is to provide Database Administrator (level 3) to manage servers. It includes the following:
Monthly Patching
- Patching of Database systems both on prem and cloud (AWS/Azure/Google) environment
- Testing of Database systems both on prem and cloud (AWS/Azure/Google) upon completion of patching

Daily health check / Escort vendor
- Daily health check and submission of daily health check report
- Escort vendor when request is raised

Technical Support
- Technical lead and mentor to junior database administrators.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level operational database support
- Technical lead and mentor to junior database administrators
- Keep abreast of database technologies for Oracle database and Microsoft SQL database, RAC etc
- Provide 2nd and 3rd Level operational support for database service on AWS/ Azure cloud

Change Management
- Lead and manage database changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
- Involve and lead in database implementation

Incident/Problem Management
- Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
- Performance/Availability/SLA Management
- Lead and monitor & measure the performance & availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & availability
- Lead and monitor the agreed service level, document & maintain the configuration of the databases; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
- Ensure service level meet requirement. Propose and implement action plan when required.
- Lead and monitor databases according to standard operations procedures.
- Define a strategy to measure the performance and availability in AWS/ Azure cloud environment

Service Continuity Management
- Lead in the implementation of service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business

Security Management
- Compliance to customer’s security policy and process e.g. government IM8 security policy
- Make security advisory assessment and recommendation
- Perform database security hardening

Other tasks
- 24 x 7 standby support and to go onsite as and when required
- Work on duty shift
- Conduct any other tasks as required of a Database Administrator role
- Conform to ITIL Service Management practices
- A good team player and leader
- Good customer service.
