**ROLE**
This is a managerial role. You will need to ensure a smooth and efficient operation in the department, to ensure the Unit goals are aligned with the business objectives in the organisation. This role will require you to have a good understanding on implementing ICT related (both hardware and software) initiatives, as well as providing administrative direction and support for day-to-day ICT operations in the organisation. This role will also require you to manage a small team of ICT-Executives, and to keep the Unit up to date with trends and technologies development in the industry. This role also requires you to prepare monthly management reports, annual working budget, training roadmap for the team, and any ICT policies, procedures, and best-practices.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. Provide technical leadership and foresight information to Straits for strategic and operational decision making.
2. Continuously review and recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by aligning to industry development and trends, as well as evaluating against organization outcomes, challenges and anticipating requirements.
3. Initiate, design, develop, coordinate, and implement ICT solutions, including preparing and compiling specification, strategy, project management plans, policies, and procedures across all levels in the organization, when required. Carry out reviews on vendors’ selection and new initiatives when required.
4. Execute project management and deliver timely outcome for inhouse projects. This will include administrating and coordination with vendors for setup, installation, and commissioning on new project sites as well as in HQ.
5. Create and administer service standards and quality, and keeping performance on Infrastructure, equipment, and resources efficient, secure and in effective operational state. This includes managing inhouse helpdesk ticketing system, bi-annual bulk-purchase and disposal of obsolete equipment.
6. Safeguard ICT assets, data & cyber security, and control structures. To perform regular system, assets, network, and data audits to identify enhancements. Compile statistics and data for organization to review planning and decision making.
7. Implement and maintain an adequate plan for maintenance, disaster recovery and business continuity for the organization.
9. Manage ICT team on training, coaching, communicating job expectations, monitoring, and appraising their performance periodically, and to conduct interviews and selections when required.
10. Prepare annual ICT budget, manage, and report on allocation, expenditures, variances.
11. Oversees and manage all inhouse systems and operations, such as Helpdesk Ticketing System, Office-365, ERP, CCTV, Door Access, Print Management Systems, Infrastructure Backup and Recovery, System Updates/Updates, and other cloud-based system. These operations maybe outside normal office hours.
12. Handle any other duties /responsibilities assigned by the Management from time to time.
**PERSONALITY**
**JOB REQUIREMENT**
- EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of proven experience in managing an ICT Team, with hands-on experience in project management and implementation
- Good understanding of ICT Systems, such as Infrastructure System, Hardware, Software and Application System
- PROFESSIONAL LICENCE /QUALIFICATION
- Preference for Microsoft Certification on deployment and management (such as Windows Server, SQL or O365) but not mandatory.
