It is expected the quantity surveyor will be a very detailed individual with previous experience with change management for complex large international projects. The successful quantity surveyor must be pro-active and have excellent Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with construction workers, Fortis’ client, the Fortis management team and subcontractors of all tiers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Represent Fortis in the utmost professional manner while constantly embracing honesty, integrity and truth.
- Comply with Fortis’ anti-graft, non-bribery requirements.
- Track, update and validate Variation Orders on a weekly basis.
- Work closely with Fortis’ client reporting forecast results monthly.
- Interface with all Fortis’ subcontractors on site to understand their cost expenditures
- Build and implement cost forecasting models.
- Work closely with the financial team to provide input to monthly billings.
- Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right first time, every time and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.
- Support Fortis’ Executive Management in the refinement of a robust change management culture, and development, implementation and monitoring of the Fortis cost management system.
- Facilitate the thorough and timely identification, assessment and control of commercial risks and communicate to all affected parties. Development and facilitation of comprehensive cost reporting and investigation programs.

**Qualifications**
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in quantity surveying or equivalent.
- 2+ years of direct experience in design management, engineering, and cost management of construction projects with significant general works packages.
- 2+ years of experience working in various cost management or quantity survey roles in other industries.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the construction business.
- Computer literate in cloud-based programs.
- Significant experience with Excel, Word, and other computer-based tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English
