Munich Re Markets (“MRM”) within Munich Re is specialized in all types of strategic transactions for our life insurance companies clients worldwide. Strategic transactions include capital management, strategic risk transfer and, last but not least, the reinsurance of new saving products. Together with our primary insurance partners and clients, MRM is active in co-development and production of savings, investment and retirement products.

MRM has developed and reinsured numerous individualized saving products across the globe. Having the infrastructure in place to reinsure, administer and risk manage savings and retirement products, MRM is expanding its local presence in reinsurance of investment-linked insurance products within South-East Asia.

It is in this context that MRM is looking for a senior resource to join the structuring team and lead the growth and development of solutions for investment-linked insurance products out of Singapore. The structuring team is currently composed of around 50 people located in multiple hubs across the world, with Hong Kong and Tokyo being key Asia hubs. The role will focus on the design and delivery of investment-linked insurance products, will require knowledge of statutory regimes of insurers across South-East Asia as well as ability to model and price such product payoffs independently.

Your job
- Solution design, risk assessment and modelling
- Development and modelling of new investment-linked insurance products aimed at savings and retirement needs of life insurance customers across South-East Asia
- Risk and profitability analysis of reinsurance solutions targeted at new investment-linked insurance products
- Definition and construction of solution hedging, including in particular knowledge of local currencies, interest rates and equity markets in South-East Asia
- Origination support
- Technical lead during client meetings and forums
- Market awareness (Asia, with a focus on South-East Asia)
- Lead client negotiations before and during transaction execution
- Act in partnership with origination to screen potential opportunities for prioritization
- Solution Delivery
- Be transaction captain for all reinsurance opportunities covering investment-linked insurance products of MRM in South-East Asia
- Feasibility and pricing assessment of proposed reinsurance solutions, including leading internal and external presentation of proposals
- Risk analysis (quantitative/qualitative) and documentation thereof
- Transaction documentation negotiation and coordination with MRM Counsel
- Internal approval processes coordination and ownership

**Profile**:

- Currently works in financial markets, investment banking, a life (re)insurance company or an actuarial advisor
- Has in excess of 7 years of experience which includes a fair amount of directly relevant experience covering product development and pricing of investment-linked insurance products, such as, indexed universal life, fixed-indexed annuities, variable annuities, CPPI products and others
- Experience in pricing and structuring bespoke payoffs related to reinsurance agreements or financial derivatives
- Knowledge of statutory regimes of insurers across South-East Asia, in particular on market risks within Risk-Based Capital regimes in the relevant jurisdictions.
- Have clear understanding or direct experience of executability and availability of local currency market risk mitigation instruments (mainly interest rate, currency and equity risks) within the South-East Asia markets
- Have good knowledge of life insurance companies’ needs and a general overview of the types of insurance solutions being executed by insurance companies within the region.
- Be a team player. The MRM approach to doing business is based on transparency and a strong partnership between Structuring and Origination to jointly own the business.

- Have the ability and the willingness to pitch the product to Munich Re clients across Asia in coordination with the origination team
- Have a sense of innovation as Munich Re Markets has the capacity and track record of delivering one-of-a-kind and very large reinsurance solutions
- Is based in or willing to immediately relocate to Singapore
