Writer/producer (Rfyi)

Ribbit.FYI is a visual explainer brand dedicated to making complex topics understandable and engaging for young adults. We function as the internet's "online school for adults," translating social issues, financial concepts, and industry jargon into empathetic, data-driven, and visually compelling narratives. Our mission is to foster critical thinking and simplify chaos for our audience of Zillennials in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

We are seeking a Writer/Producer who can research and articulate nuanced stories with intellectual sharpness and genuine empathy. This role is central to maintaining our unique voice and editorial integrity across all content formats, including our expansion into video.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Conduct in-depth research and develop original, culturally resonant story concepts for all content series (infographics, comics, videos) that align with the brand’s mission. This includes pitching new content ideas proactively to the editorial and branded teams.
- Analyze inbound client briefs against RFYI’s editorial non-negotiables to ensure all sponsored content is authentic and maintains audience trust.
- Write and script compelling narratives for all RFYI formats, translating complex data and insights into clear, accessible copy that embodies our witty, inquisitive, and empathetic tone.
- Manage the production process from concept to final asset, collaborating closely with illustrators, editors, and motion designers to ensure a cohesive, high-quality final product.
- Uphold the brand's high standards for credibility and intellectual honesty by rigorously fact-checking all information and sources.
- Collaborate regularly with the illustration team to integrate visual storytelling effectively into written content, ensuring alignment in tone, style, and narrative flow.

You should have:
**Core Competencies**:

- Exceptional Writing Ability: A portfolio demonstrating clear, concise, and engaging writing. Experience in journalism, content writing, or scriptwriting for social media is highly valued.
- Intellectual Curiosity & Fact-Checking Rigor: Open to new perspectives, actively avoids confirmation bias, and commits to thorough verification of information to maintain editorial integrity.
- High Emotional Intelligence: A nuanced understanding of sensitive topics, approached with empathy and strategic framing.
- Cultural Fluency: Deep familiarity with Zillennial culture, online discourse, and global current affairs—including the social landscape of Singapore and Southeast Asia.

**Essential Production Skills**(Writing is mandatory, plus demonstrated skill in at least one of the following):

- Data Visualization & Illustration: Ability to conceptualize and/or create compelling infographics and illustrations that tell a story. Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Video Production: Experience in creating short-form vertical video. Skills include scriptwriting/producing for video, basic editing (Adobe Premiere, After Effects is a plus), and understanding motion graphics principles.
- Data Journalism: Proficiency in sourcing, cleaning, and analyzing datasets to find compelling stories. Strong skills in Excel/Google Sheets are required; experience with Python, R, or APIs is an advantage.
